Getting started
Baati Redact is an OpenAI-compatible endpoint that keeps personal data out of your LLM provider. Your app sends the same request it always did; personal values travel to the provider as typed placeholders and come back restored in the reply.
1. Request an invite
Section titled “1. Request an invite”Baati is invite-only while we bake. Sign in at app.baatilabs.com with an invite code — ask for one if you don’t have it.
2. Create an API key
Section titled “2. Create an API key”In the console, open API keys → Create key, give it a name and copy the key
immediately — it is shown once. Keys look like gw_….
3. First request
Section titled “3. First request”Point the OpenAI SDK at Baati. Nothing else in your code changes:
from openai import OpenAI
client = OpenAI( base_url="https://api.baatilabs.com/v1", api_key="gw_…", default_headers={ "x-upstream-base": "https://api.openai.com", "x-upstream-key": "sk-…", },)
resp = client.chat.completions.create( model="gpt-4o-mini", messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Hallo, ich bin Anna Kovács"}],)The provider receives [PERSON_1]; your user sees “Anna Kovács”.
